Privacy policy

1. Who is responsible for the data
Atelier Tibet GmbH, Münstergasse 10, 8001 Zurich, Switzerland (hereinafter «Atelier Tibet») is responsible for the processing of personal data on ateliertibet.ch. Questions about data protection can be sent at any time to kundendienst@ateliertibet.ch.

Atelier Tibet complies with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and all other applicable regulations.

2. What data is processed
Atelier Tibet only processes data that is necessary for the respective purpose:

When placing an order: name, address, e-mail address, telephone number (if provided), ordered products and payment information. Atelier Tibet does not see the full card details; these are processed directly by the payment service provider.

With a customer account: additionally the login details and the order history.

When subscribing to the newsletter: the e-mail address.

For enquiries by e-mail or telephone: the information provided and the content of the enquiry.

When visiting the website: technical data such as browser type, device, pages visited and time of visit (see section 6).

3. What the data is used for
Atelier Tibet uses the data to process and deliver orders, process payments, answer enquiries, provide the customer account, send the newsletter (only upon subscription), improve the website and fulfil legal obligations, for example the retention of accounting records.

4. Who receives the data
Atelier Tibet does not sell any data. Data is only passed on to the extent necessary for the purposes stated, namely to:

Swiss Post for delivery (name, address and, where required, e-mail or telephone number for delivery notifications).

Payment service providers for processing payments, namely Shopify Payments, PayPal, Worldline and TWINT.

Shopify, the platform on which the online shop is operated (see section 5).

Newsletter services, namely MailerLite.

Google for web analytics and advertising (see section 6).

These service providers may only use the data on behalf of Atelier Tibet and for the agreed purposes.

5. Transfer of data abroad
The online shop runs on the Shopify platform. For customers in Switzerland, Atelier Tibet's contractual partner is Shopify International Limited, Victoria Buildings, 2nd Floor, 1–2 Haddington Road, Dublin 4, D04 XN32, Ireland. Shopify may also transfer data to other locations, in particular to Canada (headquarters of the parent company Shopify Inc.) and to the USA.

From a Swiss perspective, Ireland (EU) and Canada are considered countries with an adequate level of data protection. For transfers to other countries, such as the USA, the providers rely on recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or, in the case of certified US companies, the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. 6. Cookies, web analytics and advertising
The website uses cookies. These are small text files stored in the browser. Technically necessary cookies ensure, for example, that the shopping cart works. Most of them are deleted automatically at the end of the visit.

In addition, Atelier Tibet uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics shows how the website is used, for example which pages are visited most frequently. The data may also be transferred to servers of Google LLC in the USA. According to Google, IP addresses are not stored in the process.

Atelier Tibet also uses Google Ads to place advertisements and to measure whether an advertisement has led to a purchase.

Cookies can be blocked or deleted in the browser settings. Data collection by Google Analytics can also be prevented using this browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Without cookies, some functions of the website may not work.

7. Newsletter

Anyone who subscribes to the newsletter or consents when opening a customer account receives information about new products and promotions by e-mail. Unsubscribing is possible at any time via the link at the end of each newsletter or by e-mail to kundendienst@ateliertibet.ch.

8. How long data is retained
Data is only retained for as long as necessary for the respective purpose. For legal reasons, order and invoice data must generally be retained for ten years. Newsletter data is deleted after unsubscribing. Customer accounts can be deleted at any time.

9. Data security
Atelier Tibet takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Data transmission on the website is encrypted.

10. Rights
Any person can request information about which of their data Atelier Tibet processes. They can also request that incorrect data be corrected or that data be deleted, provided there is no statutory retention obligation. They can object to the processing, withdraw any consent given at any time and request that their data be handed over in a common format. Information is generally provided free of charge.

11. Changes
Atelier Tibet may amend this privacy policy. The version published on ateliertibet.ch at any given time applies.
