Large Silver "Beetle" Pendant with Turquoise

A magnificent, intricately engraved silver pendant in the shape of a beetle: The finely scaled body features a large teardrop-shaped turquoise stone at its center; the eyes are set with two red corals; and the widely outstretched wings are richly detailed with feather-like patterns. Turquoise and coral are among the most highly prized materials in Tibetan culture. The reverse side is engraved either with a traditional Tibetan depiction of a deer amidst foliage or with a lotus flower. The pendant pairs well, for example, with the silver snake chains from Atelier Tibet (sold separately). Handcrafted in a traditional workshop in Nepal.
