Large Silver "Dragon" Pendant with Amber

A majestic, three-dimensional silver pendant in the shape of a dragon: The scaly, writhing body, with its feathered tail and open mouth, encases a large oval piece of amber in a warm reddish-brown hue at its center.

The dragon (Tib.druk) is one of the most significant beings in Tibetan symbolism and is associated with power, transformation, and the auspicious element of water. The reverse side features a finely chiseled lotus flower set amid dense tendrils; the lotus is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Tibetan Buddhism and is regarded as a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening.
