Long necklace made from amber, rudraksha, silver and old coral
Long necklace made of cognac-colored amber beads, interspersed with small rudraksha seeds with a diameter of 5 mm. At the end are two small yellow amber beads and an old coral bead, with a playful silver pendant. The necklace has a circumference of 84 cm and was handmade in Atelier Tibet in Zurich.
Amber is a warm, golden yellow gemstone made from fossil resin that is known for its protective and healing energy and is often used to promote joy, vitality and positive energy.
Rudraksha are seeds extracted from the fruit of the rudraksha tree (Elaeocarpus ganitrus) and play an important spiritual role in Hinduism and Buddhism. The name "Rudraksha" is made up of the Sanskrit words Rudra (a name of the god Shiva) and Aksha (tear), which makes them "Shiva's tears".
Corals have a deep spiritual and cultural significance in traditional Tibetan jewelry. The red precious coral (Corallium rubrum) is particularly prized. In combination with turquoise and silver, coral beads are a characteristic element of Tibetan prayer beads(malas), amulets and ritual jewelry. As Tibet is a landlocked highland, coral was imported from the Mediterranean and the Southeast Asian region via centuries-old trade routes. Nowadays, precious coral is strictly protected, which is why modern Tibetan jewelry is made with old, recycled coral or sustainable alternatives.
