This traditionally turned wooden vessel with a precisely fitting lid probably originates from Tibet or Nepal. The bulbous, wide shape and the striking, turned line decoration suggest a domestic storage vessel that was used to store tsampa (roasted barley flour), butter or fermented products.
The dark reddish-brown clay, the traces of craftsmanship and the beautiful patina indicate a certain age. The slightly damaged lid shows signs of use, proving its authenticity and functionality in everyday life.
