Mala bracelet made of bodhi seeds, elastic
A simple bracelet made of dark bodhi seeds with their characteristic rough, irregular surface—no two beads are alike. Over time and with wear, the seeds darken and take on a matte sheen. Strung on an elastic cord that can be slipped on without a clasp.
Under a bodhi tree, Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment and became the Buddha; ever since, the tree has been considered sacred in Buddhism. The Sanskrit word “bodhi” means “awakening.” As a hand mala, the bracelet is traditionally used to count mantras: as the mantras are recited, the beads slide one by one through the fingers.
Bead diameter approx. 10 mm · Circumference 17 / 18 / 19 / 20 / 21 cm · Bodhi seeds · Elastic cord · Made in the Tibet Studio
