"Buddha eye" copper candle cup

The openwork motif of these handcrafted copper candle cups shows the eyes of Buddha, also known as "Buddha Eyes " or "Wisdom Eyes". This powerful symbol can be found on many stupas in Nepal - especially on the famous Swayambhunath in Kathmandu - and stands for knowledge, mindfulness and all-seeing wisdom. The dot above the eyes symbolizes the third eye, which stands for spiritual insight; the curved line below it represents the Nepalese number one - as a sign of unity.

The warm copper tone with dark patination creates an atmospheric play of light - especially when a candle burns inside and the symbol glows from within.
