Necklace made from aquamarine, freshwater pearls and old coral
Necklace made from square-cut aquamarine pearls, with freshwater pearls and two old coral pearls in between, with a large freshwater pearl as a pendant. The necklace has a circumference of 66 cm. It is handmade in Atelier Tibet in Zurich.
Aquamarine is a variety of the mineral beryl and is characterized by its delicate, blue-green hues, which are reminiscent of the clear waters of the sea. Its name comes from the Latin "aqua marina" and means "sea water". Aquamarine symbolizes purity, clarity and serenity and is considered a stone of courage and inner peace. In healing stone healing, aquamarine is said to alleviate stress, promote communication and strengthen emotional balance. It is often associated with the throat chakra and helps people to speak honestly and clearly. Aquamarine is also said to sharpen intuition and contribute to a peaceful mind.
Freshwater pearls captivate with their soft shimmer and natural radiance. Each pearl is unique with subtle nuances in color and shape. They are particularly appreciated for classic necklaces that combine elegance and naturalness. In Tibet, pearls have been used for centuries - on earrings, necklaces, clothing, ritual objects or in religious embroidery. They are regarded as a symbol of purity, wisdom and the connection to nature.
Corals have a deep spiritual and cultural significance in traditional Tibetan jewelry. The red precious coral (Corallium rubrum) is particularly prized. As Tibet is a landlocked highland, coral has been imported from the Mediterranean and the South East Asian region via centuries-old trade routes. Nowadays, precious coral is strictly protected, which is why modern Tibetan jewelry such as this is made with old, recycled coral.
