Harrer, Heinrich: Seven years in Tibet | My life at the court of the Dalai Lama
The travel literature classic about life at the Dalai Lama's court in Tibet during the Second World War.
"A REASONABLE LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR TOO BORING FOR ME." HEINRICH HARRER
In 1944, the explorer Heinrich Harrer arrives in Tibet, the mysterious land in the Himalayas, on his adventurous escape from an Indian prison camp. In Lhasa, he soon becomes a friend and teacher of the young Dalai Lama. Only when Mao's China invaded Tibet did Harrer leave the country - shortly afterwards the Dalai Lama also had to flee into exile. Harrer's fascinating account has been translated into more than forty languages, sold millions of copies and been made into a Hollywood movie.
