This finely turned wooden vessel probably originates from the Himalayan region. Such containers were traditionally used for storing butter or dry goods. The clear design with narrow, circumferential grooves and precisely fitting lid indicates careful craftsmanship.
This piece is functional and aesthetic at the same time - simple, but with the charm of craftsmanship. Due to its good state of preservation and the sparse traces of use, it is likely to have been used little or not at all.
