These Japanese cups are made from Celadon porcelain, a traditional ceramic known for its delicate glaze and subtle, cool tones. The characteristic crackled pattern is created by a controlled shrinking process of the glaze as it cools, resulting in fine, net-like cracks - a prized feature of Celadon ceramics that is a sign of artisan refinement. The shimmering range of colors from pale green to turquoise to jade green emphasizes the depth of the glaze and makes each bowl appear different depending on the incidence of light. Manufactured by hand, these cups combine Japanese aesthetics, functionality and centuries-old ceramic tradition.
