Tiger Rug" postcard

Lively postcards with the iconic Tibetan tiger rug motif - available in three color variations: classic orange-yellow, cool purple-orange and fresh green-pink. The stretched tiger with spread paws, curled tail and characteristically stylized face is one of the best-known motifs in Tibetan folk art.

In Tibetan Buddhism, tiger skins are a symbol of fearlessness and overcoming the ego. Meditating masters - yogis and lamas - used them as a carpet pad to embody these qualities in their practice. As real skins are no longer used today, the stylized tiger rug has established itself as a worthy successor: hand-knotted in Nepal, true to the old model. 

We have reinterpreted the traditional motif in fresh colors - three variants that bring the old model vividly into the present.
