Pilgrims carry them as a personal altar to experience protection and spiritual power. Sacred objects such as miniature images of deities or mantras are kept inside. It is a personal spiritual refuge that enables believers to take their practice with them wherever they go, whether on pilgrimages or in everyday life, and symbolizes protection and connection with the divine.
