Juniper Incense Cones – Nado Poizokhang, Bhutan
Distinctive olive-green-brown cones with a matte, slightly fibrous surface in which the ground plant parts remain visible. Each cone is shaped by hand, which is why the color and shape vary slightly from one to the next.
Juniper is the classic incense of the Himalayas: As “sang,” the morning incense offering, it has been burned since time immemorial in Bhutan and Tibet on rooftops, at mountain passes, and in front of monasteries. The scent is resinous and tart, woody, and slightly smoky—much closer to fresh coniferous wood than to sweet Indian blends.
Made by Nado Poizokhang, a Bhutanese incense manufacturer, from juniper needles and berries from the High Himalayas, without synthetic fragrances.
To light the cone, ignite the tip; after it flares up briefly, blow out the flame and place the cone on a heat-resistant surface—a bowl filled with sand or ash works well, since the cone will burn all the way to the bottom.
The incense cones go well with, for example, the black incense burners from CHARU.

Brief instructions for measuring ring size:
- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
