Raktu-Mala with a pink tassel

A distinctive mala made of raktu seeds, whose warm brown color is marked by a fine longitudinal seam and irregular grain—no two beads are alike. Pink knots are placed between the beads; a larger seed bead with a turned cap forms the clasp above the pink cotton tassel.

Semen malas are among the traditional materials used in Tibetan practice and, over the years, develop a darker, lustrous patina from handling. The string is knotted throughout, with no clasp. 

The mala is delivered in a silk brocade pouch, which we select to match the color.
