Bronze Amitabha statue

Beautifully crafted and highly detailed statue of Amitabha, with a particularly finely chiseled robe. Amitabha, also known in Tibetan Buddhism as the Buddha of boundless light, is a central figure in Buddhist practice. He is one of the five Dhyani Buddhas and embodies infinite compassion, wisdom and the radiant luminosity of the pure mind. His name means "Infinite Light" or "Immeasurable Radiance". He stands for the compassion and salvation of all beings. His alms pot is a reminder that he unconditionally cares for the welfare of all and is meant to encourage the cultivation of generosity and helping others.

The statue ismade of bronze (approx. 80% copper, 10% tin-bronze and 10% zinc) in a traditional artisan workshop in Nepaland is 21.5 cm high.
