A small, very decorative ghau that probably dates from before 1950. The front is made of silver and has rich Tibetan decorations. It is framed with copper and brass. The ghau is 75 mm high, 60 mm wide and 22 mm deep. It has two clasps on the right side to which it can be attached to a strap; there is only one clasp on the left side.
A ghau (or gao) is a Tibetan vessel in which written prayers, blessed textiles or a sacred yantra diagram can be kept.
