Motif description:

This thangka depicts Green Tara (Sanskrit: Syamatara, Tibetan: Dölma), one of the most popular deities in Tibetan Buddhism. She is known as the embodiment of compassion, swift protection and saving activity .

Green Tara sits in the center on a lotus and moon throne. Her body is emerald green in color, symbolizing her active and protective nature. She sits in a semi-open posture: her right foot is slightly extended forward, signifying that she is ready to rise and help beings at any time. Her right hand is in the gesture of giving (varadamudra), her left hand in the gesture of protecting and holding lotus flowers (utpala lotus) blossoming on her left shoulder. This flower symbolizes purity and the wisdom of all Buddhas.

The background shows a typical Himalayan landscape with mountains, clouds and blossoming lotus flowers in the water in front of her. Above her head is a round halo with ornamental golden patterns. The whole scene radiates peace, protection and the active presence of Tara.

The thangka is framed in a traditional brocade frame in dark green with golden floral patterns, flanked by two red vertical bands. An orange silk cloth is draped at the top, which is partially placed over the deity's face when in use to protect it and only reveal it during prayers or meditation. At the bottom are the typical brass-colored scroll ends, which provide stability and allow the thangka to be rolled up and unrolled easily.

This representation is often used to invoke the 21 Taras, to overcome fears, to ask for protection on the spiritual path and to remove obstacles.

Brief instructions for measuring wrist size:
Loosely wrap a measuring tape or string around your wrist where you want the bracelet to sit. Make sure that it fits snugly but does not cut in. Read the circumference directly from the measuring tape or measure the length of the cord with a ruler.
Note:
The length of the bracelet may be 1 cm to 3 cm longer than the measured wrist circumference, depending on your taste.

Brief instructions for measuring the ring size:
Method 1: Measure the inner diameter of a suitable ring
  • Take a ring that fits well.
  • Place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
  • Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
Method 2: Measure the circumference of your finger
  • Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
  • Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
  • Mark the point where the ends meet.
  • Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
  • Find the right size in the table.
Tips:
  • Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
  • If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
  • Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
