These thangkas are hand-painted on canvas by the most experienced artists in Nepal according to the strict iconographic rules of the Tibetan style using traditional colors. They captivate with their intense colors, intricate details and deep spiritual symbolism. The brocade frame is vegan and woven with classic patterns. The thangka is covered with an orange silk veil for protection and decoration.
Description of motif:
This thangka shows Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha Siddhartha Gautama, in a classical meditation posture. He is sitting on a large, pink-flowered lotus, which symbolizes purity and awakening in Tibetan Buddhism.
The Buddha has a golden skin color and dark blue hair, which is drawn in small curls, with the ushnisha (the elevation symbol on the top of his head), which represents wisdom and enlightenment. A green halo shines above his head, surrounded by a larger golden nimbus and a radiant blue circle of light. These circles of light represent his enlightened nature and the infinite compassion that radiates in all directions.
His right hand touches the earth in the bhumisparsha mudra (earth-touching gesture), symbolizing the moment of his awakening when he called the earth to witness his enlightenment. In his left hand he holds an alms bowl, which rests in his lap and is filled with a white substance (often interpreted as the nectar of immortality). This gesture and bowl symbolize meditation, inner concentration and the complete overcoming of desire.
The Buddha is dressed in a richly decorated red and gold monk's robe. Behind him blooms a magnificent, symmetrically arranged floral ornamentation with peonies and lotus blossoms in white, pink, blue and red, symbolizing his purity, love, wisdom and enlightenment.
Below the lotus throne, in the middle of a clear, flowing river, lies an offering arrangement with jewels, shells, endless knots and other Tibetan Buddhist symbols of good fortune, which are offered as gifts of worship to the Buddha. To the right and left, the river meanders through a green landscape with small hills and trees, above which white clouds float in a blue sky, expressing peace and vastness.
This thangka is often used for meditation on the historical Buddha to internalize his qualities of wisdom, compassion, inner peace and liberation.

- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
