This Tibetan ceremonial hat probably dates from the second half of the 20th century. It is densely decorated with colored beads, turquoise stones and kauri shells. The warm red and brown tones of the beads form a finely textured background for the elaborate floral motifs. The central ornaments, made of white metal and turquoise, are striking and strongly reminiscent of the characteristic Akor jewelry pieces. The inside of the hat is lined with a black textile lining.

Such hats were mainly worn during ceremonies, ritual dances and festive occasions. They reflect the spiritual significance of Tibetan symbolism and materials: turquoise stands for protection and harmony, cowrie shells are considered lucky charms and a sign of prosperity.

The diameter is approx. 20 cm, the height approx. 11 cm.

Brief instructions for measuring ring size:

Method 1: Measure the inner diameter of a suitable ring

Take a ring that fits well.
Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.

Method 2: Measure the circumference of your finger

Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
Mark the point where the ends meet.
Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
Find the right size in the table.

Tips:

Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
