Sorig Beauty Cream · Men-Tsee-Khang
Five ingredients, nothing else: sunflower oil, beeswax, ceresin, borax, and water. A thick, waxy cream based on a Tibetan medicine formula—free of fragrances, dyes, and herbal extracts. The texture is firm and melts only upon contact with the skin; the cream is therefore particularly suitable for dry skin and for winter use.
Directions: Apply a thin layer to cleansed skin in the morning and evening, or as needed. For external use only.
Available in a can or a tube, each containing about 50 g.
The cream is manufactured by Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Institute of Medicine and Astrology in Dharamsala. The institute was founded in Lhasa in 1916 by the 13th Dalai Lama and reestablished in exile in India in 1961 by the 14th Dalai Lama; to this day, it trains doctors in Tibetan medicine and produces medicines and skincare products in its own pharmacy according to traditional formulas. Brief instructions for measuring ring size:
- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
