Older Tibetan prayer wheel (Mani-Khorlo)
This Tibetan prayer wheel (Mani-Khorlo) dates from the 20th century and is a beautiful example of traditional Buddhist ritual art.
The mill consists of a finely chased metal cylinder with floral and symbolic relief motifs in repoussé technique, complemented by small coral or glass inlays. The wooden handle is simply turned and contrasts elegantly with the richly decorated cylinder. Inside is the traditional paper scroll with thousands of prayer formulas (mantras), mostly "Om Mani Padme Hum", which are symbolically recited when the mill is turned.
A small weight chain with a pendulum hangs from the cylinder, which supports the turning movement (with traces of glue from a later repair). The upper end is removable and shows a detailed lotus ornament.

- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
