Large onyx pendant with a silver dragon and coral

A striking, large pendant made of deep black, polished onyx with silver inlay decoration on both sides: The front features a finely chased, winding dragon, while the back features a different motif depending on the piece—either a lotus flower or a fish. A round red coral set in silver is attached to the eyelet.

The dragon (Tib.druk) is one of the most significant beings in Tibetan symbolism; unlike in Western traditions, it is regarded there as an auspicious spirit and is associated with protection and the element of water.

For example, this pendant goes well with the silver snake chains from Atelier Tibet (sold separately). Handcrafted in a traditional workshop in Nepal.
