Large Silver "Dragonfly" Pendant with Turquoise and Coral

An elegant, intricately engraved silver pendant in the shape of a dragonfly: The slender body is formed by an oval, greenish turquoise stone; the wide-spread wings are finely chased with cloud and vine motifs and each set with a teardrop-shaped red coral; another piece of coral is set on the head. Turquoise and coral are among the most highly prized materials in Tibetan culture. The reverse side features a lotus flower set against dense vinework. The lotus is one of the Eight Symbols of Good Fortune in Tibetan Buddhism and is regarded as a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening. Handcrafted in a traditional workshop in Nepal.
