Necklace made from naturally cut agates from the Gobi Desert

These nature-cut agate beads on this knotted necklace come from the Gobi Desert, where they have been shaped by the sun and wind over millions of years. The diameter of the stones is approx. 6 mm, the length approx. 15 mm, with a large pendant; the circumference of the necklace is approx. 66 cm.

Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony and is formed by the deposition of quartz in cavities in volcanic rocks.
