Coral necklace with Tibetan turquoise - old stock
Timeless necklace made of cylindrical coral tubes in warm terracotta red with a diameter of approx. 5 mm, interrupted by three uncut Tibetan turquoise beads as a natural centerpiece - a large, elongated stone flanked by two smaller ones, all with the characteristic dark matrix veining. The circumference is 42 cm. Silver spring ring clasp. Handmade in the Tibet studio in Zurich. Both materials come from old stocks - a combination that has been considered particularly auspicious in the Tibetan jewelry tradition for centuries.
Hardly any other combination is more deeply rooted in Tibet than coral and turquoise. Red and blue-green stand for fire and water, for energy and calm - two forces that complement each other in the Tibetan world view and together embody protection and harmony. Both stones were traditionally combined in ritual objects, crown ornaments and everyday jewelry. As precious coral is strictly protected today, these pieces come from old stocks - another reason for their special value.
