Fine mala made from dark Bodhi seeds with silver beads and a colored tassel. Hand-knotted in the Tibet studio in Zurich. Length: 100 cm. Diameter of the Bodhi seeds approx. 13 mm. One version is available with two silver counters, each with ten silver disks for the 100/1,000 and a silver bell or vajra at the end.
Bodhi seeds are the products of the Bodhi tree. The term "Bodhi" comes from Sanskrit and refers to awakening, enlightenment and comprehensive understanding. Siddharta Gautama attained enlightenment under a bodhi tree and thus became a Buddha. Since then, the bodhi tree has been a sacred symbol in Buddhism.
