Onyx and tiger's eye necklace

A delicate, short necklace made of matte-finished onyx beads in deep black, with six polished tiger's eye beads strung at regular intervals. The warm golden-brown hue and luster of the tiger's eye stand out clearly against the velvety black.

The tiger's eye owes its name to the shifting play of light known as chatoyance: Fine fibrous structures within the stone cast a bright streak that moves across the bead as it turns, much like the glint of light in a cat's eye. The necklace fastens with a silver spring ring clasp.
