Skull mala made from bone

Long Tibetan prayer chain with 108 artistically carved bone skull beads. The mala has a red or orange-brown tassel and is carefully handcrafted for us in a traditional workshop in Nepal.

Skull and bone motifs have a deep spiritual meaning in Buddhist symbolism. They remind us of the impermanence of all life (Sanskrit: Anitya) and invite us to become aware of the impermanence of the world. This symbolism supports the practice of meditation by encouraging you to let go of attachment to material things and focus your mind on what is essential.

The 108 beads correspond to the traditional number of mantra repetitions in Buddhist practice and accompany concentrated and mindful meditation.

We supply the mala in an elegant silk brocade bag, which we select individually to match the color.
