Schuhmacher, Stephan: The Tibetan Book of the Dead

The first complete paperback edition of the great Tibetan book of wisdom

With introductory commentary by the XIV Dalai Lama - The Tibetan Book of the Dead

The questions posed in the Tibetan Book of the Dead affect all people, regardless of their cultural background: How do we come to terms with ourselves and our lives? How can relatives make the dying process easier for a person? What is really going on inside a dying person? How does the transition to a new reality take place? What does it look like beyond the threshold and is there rebirth?
Many answers to these questions have been given in the cultural history of mankind, but never as detailed, as competent and at the same time as comforting as in the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
In a detailed foreword, the Dalai Lama provides information about the Tibetan concept of death and rebirth. Unique access is provided by the editors' expert commentaries that precede each chapter. A textual history of the Tibetan Book of the Dead, a glossary of the most important technical terms, a list of the names of deities and bodhisattvas, a bibliography and footnotes underline the loving precision of this beautiful publication.
