Vajradhara Buddha statue in bronze
Small, beautifully crafted statue of Vajradhara Buddha. Vajradhara, the "holder of the vajra" (thunderbolt), is a central figure in Vajrayana Buddhism and represents the highest enlightened form of Buddha. Vajradhara symbolizes the essence of all Buddhas and the unity of compassion and wisdom. In the Tibetan tradition, he is regarded as the original source of the tantric teachings.
Vajradhara embodies the highest truth and the indestructible nature of enlightenment. His name is derived from vajra, the symbol of unshakeable power and purity, and dhara, the holder or carrier. As the primordial Buddha, he stands above the Dhyani Buddhas and is often regarded as their original, transcendent form.
The statue is made in a traditional artisan workshop in Nepal from bronze (approx.made of bronze (approx. 80% copper, 10% tin-bronze and 10% zinc) and is approx. 9 cm tall. - Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
