Mug with plant motif

This beautifully shaped cup made of Japanese ceramic combines traditional craftsmanship with a fine, floral visual language. The decoration shows densely arranged, stylized flower motifs in deep indigo blue, which are laid over a fine geometric network of lines. The abstract flowers are reminiscent of classic Japanese plant motifs, which are often found in wagara patterns on textiles, ceramics and works on paper.
