This contemporary hand-painted thangka depicts the White Tara, one of the most important deities in Tibetan Buddhism, worshipped for longevity, healing and compassion.

These thangkas are hand-painted on canvas by the most experienced artists in Nepal according to the strict iconographic rules of the Tibetan style using traditional colors. They captivate with their intense colors, intricate details and deep spiritual symbolism. The brocade frame is vegan and woven with classic patterns. The thangka is covered with an orange silk veil for protection and decoration.

Description of motif:

The White Tara can be recognized by her radiant white body color, which symbolizes purity, wisdom and spiritual clarity. She sits in a meditative posture on a colorful lotus flower. Her right hand shows the gesture of generous offering, while her left hand holds the stem of a blue lotus flower raised in front of her chest - a sign of enlightenment and unshakeable purity. Characteristic are her seven eyes: one each on the palms of her hands and soles of her feet and an additional eye on her forehead, expressing her all-seeing compassion for all living beings. She is adorned with elaborate decorative elements, a golden crown and filigree necklaces. The background shows a peaceful landscape with flowers, clouds and flowing water, which emphasizes her gentle, healing energy. Spiritually, it is invoked to strengthen health, long life, inner peace, compassion and wisdom.
