Description of motif:

This thangka shows Bhaisajyaguru, the Medicine Buddha, who is revered in Tibetan Buddhism as the healer of all diseases and ailments. He can be recognized by his deep blue body color, which symbolizes lapis lazuli and stands for healing power, wisdom and transcendence.

The Medicine Buddha sits in a meditative posture on an elaborately designed lotus flower supported by clouds. His left hand rests in his lap and holds an alms bowl filled with healing nectars, while his right hand presents a medicinal plant (myrobalan fruit) in a gesture of generous offering. In Tibetan medicine, this plant is regarded as a symbol of comprehensive healing.

Bhaisajyaguru is dressed in a colorfully patterned monk's robe in shades of yellow, orange and green. His facial expression is calm and benevolent, radiating peace, compassion and a healing presence. Behind his head shines a pink halo with finely crafted ornaments, while the background is in warm brown and soft cloud patterns.

A blossoming tree with fruit and flowers grows to his right, symbolizing the abundance and healing power of nature. Beneath the lotus are offerings, including precious jewels, shells and ritual symbols, as well as an incense bowl whose smoke rises in a spiral, expressing the connection between the material and the spiritual.

This thangka is used as an object of meditation and visualization to promote healing, inner peace and the power of compassion. It is a reminder that true healing combines wisdom, compassion and spiritual practice.

Brief instructions for measuring the ring size:
Method 1: Measure the inner diameter of a suitable ring
  • Take a ring that fits well.
  • Place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
  • Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
Method 2: Measure the circumference of your finger
  • Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
  • Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
  • Mark the point where the ends meet.
  • Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
  • Find the right size in the table.
Tips:
  • Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
  • If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
  • Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
