Traditional, older vessel from the Himalayas
This hand-turned storage vessel made of dark hardwood was probably used to store drinking water and is a typical everyday vessel from the Himalayan region. It is characterized by its simple linear decoration and slightly flared neck.
The visible age patina and signs of use lend the vessel a special authenticity and tell of its earlier use in everyday Tibetan-Nepalese life.
Provenance: The object comes from a private collection. It was acquired in Nepal around 1960. Details on request.
