Sorig Aru Balm · Men-Tsee-Khang
A solid balm based on a formula from the Tibetan Pharmacopoeia. Soybean oil and carnauba wax are blended with aru, cinnamon, cardamom, and ajowan, as well as menthol, eucalyptus oil, and peppermint oil—the balm has a spicy, cooling scent and melts on the skin.
It is named after the aru fruit, also known as the myrobalane. In Tibetan depictions, the Medicine Buddha holds a branch of this plant in his hand; in Sowa Rigpa, the “Knowledge of Healing,” it is one of the most commonly used plants of all.
Directions: Apply a small amount sparingly to the skin and rub in gently. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes; do not apply to broken skin.
The balm is manufactured by Men-Tsee-Khang, the Tibetan Institute of Medicine and Astrology in Dharamsala. The institute was founded in Lhasa in 1916 by the 13th Dalai Lama and reestablished in exile in India in 1961 by the 14th Dalai Lama; to this day, it trains doctors in Tibetan medicine and produces medicines and care products in its own pharmacy according to traditional formulas. Every purchase helps support this work.

Brief instructions for measuring ring size:
- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
