Necklace with seed syllable Tam, fire-gilded · CHARU × Khyenle
Fine pendant: On a reddish-shimmering bronze background stands the seed syllable Tam in fire-gilt gold, set in a smooth silver bezel. The contrast of warm copper tone, matte silver, and deep golden yellow makes the small 1.5 cm surface the true highlight of the piece. The pendant hangs on a brown, braided cord, the length of which can be adjusted.
Tam is the seed syllable of Green Tara. In the Tibetan tradition, she is considered the one who liberates from fear and danger. In her depiction, she sits with one foot lowered, ready to rise immediately. Seed syllables are not ordinary words, but condensed symbols: they represent a figure, a lineage, and their meaning, and appear in manuscripts, on buildings, on ritual objects, and on the body.
The pendant is cast in Khyenle bronze, an alloy of brass and copper with small proportions of gold, silver, tin, and zinc. The tradition dates back to the 19th century and the workshops around Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo in Dzongsar, in the Dege County of Kham; the name connects the Khyentse lineage with the bronze craft. Each piece undergoes six steps: wax model, mold, melting out, casting, manual reworking, and polishing. The manual finishing takes up the majority of the time.
The necklace is delivered in an elegant wooden gift box.
CHARU connects designers with craft cooperatives in the Tibetan cultural region and develops products from this collaboration that bring traditional techniques into everyday life.

Brief instructions for measuring ring size:
- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
