This group of Tibetan monks - reading, meditating and making music - is a special work by the renowned Swiss artist Peter Leisinger.
Peter Leisinger can look back on a multifaceted life: he has worked as a doctor and psychotherapist in Switzerland, India and Bhutan. His artistic activities have accompanied him since early childhood. His first sculptures were created at the workbench in his parents' house - this is where his fascination with wood, its waywardness and transience developed.
Leisinger's works - drawings, watercolors and sculptures - always bear the visible traces of their creation. He is particularly interested in living creatures and their relationship to the environment, often translating drawings into three-dimensional forms.
The monk figures are made of wood and painted. Each figure is signed on the underside. The figures are sold individually. The proceeds go to a charitable foundation.
