Larimar necklace with lotus pendant

Necklace with faceted, blue-green Larimar beads with a diameter of 4 mm, which are interspersed with gold-plated silver discs. At the bottom is a pendant made of gold-plated silver with a stylized lotus blossom. The chain is opened with a gold-plated silver spring clasp. The necklace has a circumference of approx. 42 cm and is handmade in Atelier Tibet in Zurich.

Larimar is a rare, blue gemstone that is found exclusively in the Dominican Republic. Its characteristic color ranges from light blue to greenish-blue and is reminiscent of the colors of the Caribbean Sea. Geologically, larimar is a variety of the mineral pectolite, whose blue color is due to copper deposits. Larimar is said to have a calming effect; it is said to help release inner blockages and boost self-confidence. It is also said to have the ability to break through negative thought patterns and promote intuition. 

The lotus flower is a central symbol in Buddhism and stands for purity, enlightenment and spiritual awakening. Although it grows in muddy water, it remains untainted and thus symbolizes the overcoming of suffering and ignorance. The lotus flower represents the path to enlightenment, maintaining purity and clarity despite worldly challenges.
