Elephant silver pendant from the Himalayas
Pretty, finely crafted silver pendant in the shape of an elephant. Floral shapes are chased on the back. The pendant is made for us in a traditional Tibetan silver workshop in Nepal.
The height (incl. eyelet) is approx. 26-28 mm, the width approx. 30 mm. The diameter of the eyelet is 6 mm, which means that the pendant can also be worn with larger chains - e.g. snake chains.
In Tibetan Buddhism, the elephant primarily stands for strength, steadfastness and calm determination.
-
A tamed elephant symbolizes a controlled, disciplined mind.
-
A wild elephant, on the other hand, stands for the untamed, distracted mind that is driven by passions and restlessness.
This juxtaposition plays a central role in the "nine-step meditation card" (Samatha depiction), which shows how a monk calms the mind step by step - accompanied by an elephant that gradually becomes lighter and tamer.
As these are traditional hand-forged pieces, they may differ slightly from the illustration.

- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
