This Tibetan mechak flint pouch (also known as a flint pouch ) probably dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. It served as a combined pouch for flint, tinder and coins, which was worn on the belt - an indispensable everyday utensil in ancient Tibet.

The bag is made of black and red leather and richly decorated with embossed metal applications (repoussé technique). The fine ornaments show flower motifs and cloud shapes, typical of the Tibetan art of metal craftsmanship. The front is adorned with a large turquoise, a protective stone and symbol of spiritual purity.

Dimensions: Width 14 cm, height 10 cm, depth 5.5 cm.

Method 1: Measure the inner diameter of a suitable ring

Tips:
  • Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.

  • Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
