The painting is of very high quality. As with all of the thangkas available from Atelier Tibet, this is a one-of-a-kind piece that has been painstakingly crafted by hand and is only offered once in its details and colors.
These thangkas are hand-painted on canvas by the most experienced artists in Nepal according to the strict iconographic rules of the Tibetan style using traditional colors. They captivate with their intense colors, intricate details and deep spiritual symbolism. The brocade frame is vegan and woven with classic patterns. The thangka is covered with an orange silk veil for protection and decoration.
Description of motif:
This thangka shows a representation of the chakras in the human body according to the Tantric Buddhist and yogic tradition. It depicts a green-colored standing figure with open eyes, standing on a lotus blossom. Her body is decorated from top to bottom with colored chakra symbols arranged along the spine. Each chakra is represented by a lotus flower with a different number of petals and contains sacred syllables (bija mantras) inside in Tibetan Sanskrit script.
At the very top, above the crown, is a large purple lotus chakra with many petals, in the center of which two feet are depicted - a symbol for the Sahasrara chakra or crown chakra, which is associated with enlightenment, the connection to the divine and the highest consciousness.
The forehead chakra (Ajna) is depicted between the eyebrows, marked by two large red flowers and the corresponding syllable. At the neck is the throat chakra (Vishuddha) with a blue lotus and a syllable in the center. At heart level is the green heart chakra (Anahata), below which is the yellow navel chakra (Manipura) with a syllable in a yellow lotus. Lower down on the lower abdomen is the sacral chakra (Svadhisthana) in purple with another syllable, and at the very bottom is the root chakra (Muladhara) in pink, also with a bija syllable in the center.
The figure wears a traditional robe with fine patterns in blue, brown and white as well as pink sashes and jewelry on the arms, wrists and ankles. To the right and left of the body are lines of Tibetan or Sanskrit script, presumably verses or mantras associated with the chakras or their activation. In the background, the entire room is painted a deep blue, symbolizing tranquillity, vastness and transcendence.
This thangka is used to meditate on the chakras and visualize the inner flow of energy. It shows how the body is regarded as a temple in which spiritual transformation and even enlightenment are possible through the awakening and harmonization of the chakras.

- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inner diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
