Jade mala with coral beads
A spring-inspired mala made of 7-mm Burmese jade beads, light green with whitish clouds and delicate darker inclusions—each bead has a unique pattern. Bright red coral beads serve as counting markers, and the mala ends with a larger coral bead flanked by two smaller ones, followed by a golden-yellow tassel.
Coral is one of the classic materials used in Tibetan jewelry: For centuries, it has been brought from the Mediterranean region to the highlands via the caravan routes, where it ranks among the most prized stones alongside turquoise and amber. Jade, on the other hand, has long symbolized steadfastness and integrity in East Asia.
The mala is the counting tool used in Buddhist practice: a mantra is recited bead by bead; the large bead above the tassel marks the beginning and end of a round and is not passed over while counting—instead, the mala is turned at this point. It is worn around the neck or wrapped several times around the wrist.
A one-of-a-kind piece, crafted at Atelier Tibet in Zurich from vintage materials. The mala is delivered in a silk brocade pouch, which we select to match the color of the mala.

Brief instructions for measuring ring size:
- Take a ring that fits well.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter (from one inner edge to the other).
- Compare the diameter with the table to determine the ring size.
- Take a thin strip of paper or thread.
- Wrap it around the part of the finger where you want the ring to sit (not too tight).
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length of the strip in millimeters. This is the inner circumference.
- Find the right size in the table.
- Measure the finger size in the evening, as fingers swell slightly during the day.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the larger size.
- Make sure that the ring fits over the knuckle.
